This is a doll I work on at the moment. I'd like it to be a friend of my Manuna Mouse, so their stylistics should be similar. I plan to add more relief to the toad.
Don't know if it will be male or female character yet. Don't know its name also)) We'll see!

Material for 1st generation model: Mungyo Sculpt Dry. It's self-hardening, rather strong so I can test joints, and the most advantage it has is a very fine grain, no more terrible hairy texture like Ladoll or Paperclay has!

2nd generation model will be done in Apoxie Sculpt via plaster molds.

Isn't this material too fragile?

It's durable enough to make the plaster mold. It's also durable enough to test the stringing. Not intended for play though. I used it for the protoype only.

Am so happy to see that you are working on another small animal doll! This clay looks like it carves well but am curious why you are starting this in the Mungyo clay rather than straight to the Apoxie?

Thanks a lot! Hope my toad and mouse would become buddies))
Yes, Mungyo is softer than Apoxie but it's still strong enough. It's just simpler for me to work in a softer material. Mungyo has another quality that is both its great flaw and great advantage - it's absolutely reversible with water. It dissolves like crazy so I can omit sanding and just use a wet brush or cloth on it to even out the surface.

I plan to use Apoxie anyway, through plaster molds. Prototype for the factory should be strong!

Ah - thank you for the answer. That makes sense... I sent another couple questions about using Apoxie Sculpt to your email listed on your wgrass website.

Anyway, this toad is going to be marvelous!
