Elven boots with embroidery by scargeear Elven boots with embroidery by scargeear
I already had a pair of black boots but I wanted one more pair of a light color. I decided to have a set of items that fit for an elven costume. The other two items are this bag and belt.

The boots are very comfortable and fit my feet like gloves.

You can purchase the pattern on my Etsy for $10: www.etsy.com/listing/226657658…

Hello!

I'm sorry to bother, but I'm truly interested in these beautiful boots. However, the pattern is not available in etsy anymore, so I was wondering if there was another way available for purchasing it.

Thank you kindly.

Thank you very much for your interest! I'm so sorry, because as Ukrainian citizen I can't accept PayPal payments directly, so as I'm forced to use an intermediator. And they're strictly against allowing myself to sell a digital files. So as there is a demand for this pattern after some thought I decided to print it out and sell it that way. If you want the digital files it's possible too, just let me know.
The link is active now, you can purchase the pattern

I am new to the DIY costumes and am learning the ropes.  To make these shoes, other then the materials and the pattern, would a regular sewing machine work or would a more  industrial type be needed? I also suck as using a sewing machine.  What would you suggest?

Congrats on entering the world of DIY boots!
I prefer the awl and my own hands, because industrial machines are too expensive, and not every modern electrical machine is powerful enough to punch 2-3 layers of leather of 1,5-2 mm thick. Also, with awl you have much more control, if you are a novice.
I used to align 2 pieces together, to punch the holes with awl and then to sew into the prepared holes. I'm sure, this will work for you too!
The best awls for leather are the ones with a flat needles. Look at this eBay lot: www.ebay.com/itm/New-3-4-5-6mm…
I've bought 2 tooth awl with 3 mm step, for a dollie purposes, you'd better buy 4 or 5 mm step for human size. Or you can buy a single toothed awl and punch holes wherever you want.

As I finally opened my shop on Etsy now I can sell the pattern in the way convenient for my customers. Please try this on: www.deviantart.com/users/outgo…
Hope you wouldn't have any problems with downloading from Etsy, and the files should be fine, but don't hesitate to contact me if something is wrong.

What kind of leather did you use for the body of the boot? Kind of looks like suede?

These are spectacular, btw!

What did you use for the sole? I'm trying to make my own boots and I'm having an impossible time finding sole solutions!

Thanks!

Thank you! I used cow leather of ~2.5 mm thick. Suede is usually much softer and thinner.

No, I've bought the leather at the factory so it's probably chemically dyed. Veg tanned leather is a great choice too.

These are absolutely beautiful, thank you SO much for sharing the pattern!! I'm excited to try to make my own! I'm looking at buying a really soft milled cow leather, but I'm not sure if that's the right kind to use..?

You're welcome! If the leather is strong and not too stretchy it's totally ok even it's soft and thin. Though please use a thicker and stiffer leather for the soles.
