Clones or different personalities? by scargeear Clones or different personalities? by scargeear
The original prototype head made out of Apoxie Sculpt is on the left, the polyurethane head is on the right. They are so alike but the difference is obvious. I corrected some issues in the 2nd version of the wig so the face looks more narrow. There are also some changes in makeup schema: eyebrows shape differs a bit, no wrinkles added. I decided to make him look more younger.

Whispering Grass Thomas is my 1st BJD head that is offered for sale.

Uhm, uhm. I'm seriously considering to buy this beaty. Your skill is mindblowing. I'm totally new in this field... Hell, I never thought to buy any doll, but... ugh. This is just so perfect! How much would it cost an entire doll, not just the head itself? You made two heads, but would you be able to do more heads after these?

Thanks a lot! It's always flattering to hear that a person considers entering such a complex hobby as BJD because of my doll :blushes:

Well, the BJDs are like a Lego kit, in a sense. An owner can buy a head from one manufacturer, a body from another one, so as wig, eyes, jointed hands, etc. I can't tell you the cost of a whole doll because it greatly depends. I can give you only very approximate range: the body may cost you 200-500 USD + shipping, if you want jointed hands add another 120-150 USD or so, eyes are about 15-20 USD, wigs are about 10-25 USD, faceup cost greatly depends on the artist, etc.
I sell the blank heads only, please find all the info here: [link]

It does seem to be very complex hobby indeed!

I see, it's expensive, but it's worth it. Thanks a lot for your detailed and superuseful reply!

You are welcome! Yeah, BJD requires a lot of research in most cases, especially when the doll is bought by parts, is rather expensive and demands a lot of patience and waiting, too.
Omg! You got some epic skills! :D
How long time does it take you to make a head like that? It really looks great! I have a friend who would die to have him x3

Thank you so much!
Well, the time spent greatly depends on the sculpting method I use: those two heads were made differently. Also sculpting Sephiroth was much easier technically than Loki because Sephiroth is a 3D art and Tom Hiddleston is a real person.
